The RRB NTPC Vacancy:- Selection Process The recruitment process shall involve 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/ Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable) and Document Verification/ Medical Examination. Selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basis of above-mentioned recruitment stages.
Computer-Based Test for the First Stage
The exam is called the First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT). No of questions: 100
Questions of the objective type with multiple options Exam time is 90 minutes. 100 marks in total Negative marking: There will be negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
Subjects:
a. Mathematical concepts such as the number system, decimals, fractions, LCM, HCF, ratios and proportions, percentages, mensuration, time and work, distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, elementary algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, and other topics are all covered in this subject. b. Analogies, Number Series Completion, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumble, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement-Conclusion, Statement-Course of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs, etc. are all examples of general intelligence and reasoning. c. General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and World, Indian Polity and Governance- constitution and political system, General Scientific and Technological Developments including Space and Nuclear Program of India, UN and Other important World Organizations, Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large, Basics of Computers and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World, Flagship Government Programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government and Public Sector Organizations of India etc.
# The screening nature of the first stage of CBT means that the questions will generally be in line with the educational requirements for the posts. The normalized score from the first stage of cognitive behavioral therapy will be used to select candidates for the second stage based on merit. # In various categories, a minimum percentage of marks is required to be eligible: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2 Marks for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
Second Stage: Computer-Based Test
Shortlisting of Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in 1st Stage CBT.
The exam is called the Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT). 120 questions total Questions of the objective type with multiple options Exam time is 90 minutes. Total marks: 120
Negative marking: For each incorrect response, one-third of the mark will be deducted.
Subjects:
a. Mathematical concepts such as the number system, decimals, fractions, LCM, HCF, ratios and proportions, percentages, mensuration, time and work, distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, elementary algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, and other topics are all covered in this subject.
b. General Intelligence and Reasoning:
Analogies, Number Series Completion, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumble, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement-Conclusion, Statement-Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs, and other similar concepts are all examples of analogies.
c. General Awareness:
Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and World, Indian Polity and Governance- constitution and political system, General Scientific and Technological Developments including Space and Nuclear Program of India, UN and Other important World Organizations, Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large, Basics of Computers and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World, Flagship Government Programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government and Public Sector Organizations of India etc.
In various groups, a certain percentage of marks is required to be eligible: 40% for UR, 40% for EWS, 30% for OBC (non-creamy layer), 30% for SC, and 25% for ST. In the event that there are insufficient PwBD candidates to fill the vacancies that have been designated for them, these percentages of marks required for eligibility may be reduced by two marks.
The normalized marks scored by the candidate in the 2nd stage CBT shall be used for short listing the candidates for document verification for the posts which do not have Typing Skill Test/Computer based Aptitude Test. For the posts having Typing Skill Test/Computer based Aptitude Test, the normalized marks scored by the candidate in the 2nd stage CBT shall be used for shortlisting the candidates for Typing Skill Test/Computer based Aptitude Test.
Computer Based Aptitude Test
Computer Based Aptitude TestComputer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) will be conduct after qualify the 2nd Stage CBT (Only for candidates who have opted for Station Master)
Qualifying marks:
To be considered, applicants must achieve a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery. This applies to all candidates, regardless of community or category—for example, SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/Ex SM—and there will be no reduction in the required minimum T-Score.
Candidates equal to eight times the number of Station Master (SM) positions available in each community, i.e. UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS (including ExSM) will be selected from among applicants for the position of SM for the CBAT based on their performance in the second stage of the CBT. Such shortlisted candidates should produce the Vision Certificate in the prescribed format as per Annexure VI in original during CBAT, failing which they will not be permitted to appear in the CBAT.
In order to be considered for the position of SM, candidates must pass each CBAT test battery. The CBAT shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi. In the CBAT, there will be no negative marking.
Skill Test (TST)
for the positions of Senior Clerk with Cum Type, Junior Accounts Assistant with Cum Type, Account Clerk with Cum Type, and Junior Clerk with Cum Type. Typing Skill Test (TST) of qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be added for making merit) shall be conducted for which the number of candidates equal to eight times the number of vacancies for each of the community shall be called for. The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility. Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be made available for typing skill tests on personal computers in accordance with guidelines for those taking the Hindi test.
Document Verification:
Candidates will be called for Document Verification in accordance with their merit and options based on their performance in the examination. # The Railway Administration’s Medical Fitness Test, final verification of educational and community certificates, and verification of the candidates’ antecedents and character are all requirements for the appointment of selected candidates. Please note that RRBs only recommend the names of candidates who have been hired, and that appointments are only made by the relevant Railway Administrations.
